4PP420.1505-B5 BIOS stands for "Basic Input Output System". It is the most basic standardized communication between the user and the system (hardware). A B&R-modified BIOS from Insyde is used in the Power Panel devices. BIOS setup lets you modify basic system configuration settings. These settings are saved in CMOS RAM. The CMOS RAM is a nonvolatile, battery-backed memory that retains information when power is not applied to the Power Panel. BIOS is immediately activated when switching on the power supply of the Power Panel. BIOS reads the system configuration information in CMOS RAM, checks the system, and configures it using the power-on self-test (POST).
